Mushoku Tensei Part 2 Episode 7

Mushoku Tensei Part 2 Episode 7

Onward to the Central Continent

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Part 2 Episode 7 was definitely better than Episode 6. Not only does the episode focus on Roxy, who’s only slightly below Eris in my “best girl” rankings, but it also tells us more about Roxy’s village and past.

However, before we get to the good stuff, let’s quickly catch up with the members of Dead End to see how their journey is going. They’ve left the Millis Continent and are now on their way to the Central Continent via ship.

So, what can we expect them to find on the Central Continent? My first thought was that they’re not going to find anyone they’re looking for there. After all, if Zenith, Aisha, or Lilia were within the Central Continent, it wouldn’t have taken them long to get back home, right?

Well, that might not be entirely correct. You see, we now know that it’s been 2 years since Rudy visited Roxy’s village. I mistakenly thought it had only been about a year since the mana disaster. So, since it’s actually been a few years, maybe 3 in total, it’s possible someone made it back to the Central Continent.

Maybe Zenith wouldn’t do this since she’s an experienced adventurer, but I could see Lilia and Aisha staying put if they made it back home. For them, it’s probably best to wait for the others to make it back there.

However, it’s also possible that Lilia and Aisha weren’t transported very far. From what I remember, Lilia wasn’t an adventurer. It’s possible she and Aisha were transported somewhere else on the continent and captured to be made into slaves.

Roxy Returns Home

Roxy returning to her home is definitely the best part of the episode. It’s also the vast majority of the episode, so that makes sense. But, we learn that despite being on the Demon Continent, she had no plans to visit her parents in her home village.

She only decides to go there after Nokopara, her former party member, tells her she should make up with her parents before she regrets it. And, as you’ll remember, Nokopara is the horse demon with whom Rudy & co. had a run-in early on in their adventure.

Anyway, enough about Nokopara. What’s important here is that until this episode, I don’t think we knew that Roxy had run away from home. She never really mentioned her home, and her parents didn’t say that she disappeared. I believe they only said they didn’t know where she was.

I assumed that to mean that since Roxy’s an adventurer, she could be anywhere in the world.

We now know that Roxy ran away from her village because she was an outcast and believed that her presence was causing stress for her parents. The reason she was an outcast is that every member of her particular demon race can communicate via telepathy — except Roxy.

I don’t think this came up when Rudy visited the village. But, the only people in the village who can speak any language verbally are Roxy’s parents. And the only reason they can do that is that they learned how so they could communicate with their daughter.

Because everyone else in the village can use telepathy and the village seems to be extremely remote, they never had a reason to learn verbal languages. To Roxy, however, their attempts to communicate telepathically just appear as flashes of light and the sound of clicks.

The Search for Zenith Continues

I mentioned earlier in the review that while Lilia and Aisha might stay put if they made it back home, the same might not be true for Zenith. I’m convinced that Zenith isn’t going to be found anywhere near the Central Continent whenever she is eventually found.

Personally, I think Zenith is going to be found on the Demon Continent by Roxy’s party. Her party hasn’t found anyone they’re looking for yet, unlike Paul and Rudy who found each other. So it makes sense to me for Roxy to be the one to find Zenith.

Of course, this means that I think Rudy is going to find Lilia. Whether Aisha is going to be with Lilia, I don’t know. It could be a weird turn of events where Aisha has actually been with Zenith this whole time. And that could actually make a lot of sense.

If I’m remembering correctly, Zenith was an S-Class adventurer, the same as her former party members who are now traveling with Roxy. So, you’d think that she’d be able to handle the Demon Continent if she were on her own — or not, based on what Geese said to Paul last week.

But, if Zenith also has to worry about protecting Aisha, that would explain why she’s still on the Demon Continent. Imagine if Paul had to traverse the Demon Continent with Norn in tow. That wouldn’t be an easy task. He’s lucky he’s only been in the Central Continent and Millis.

Also, Elinalise’s obsession with sex could actually come in handy when locating Zenith. She might hear from the demon men of another non-demon woman on the continent who refused their advances. Or, perhaps in a twist, Zenith didn’t refuse and Rudy now has a half-demon sibling as well.

Conclusion

What do you think of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Part 2 Episode 7? I don’t think it was the most exciting episode. But I did like learning more about Roxy’s village and why she left it.
