Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? IV Part 2 Episode 2

Deep Floor Monsters

As far as I’m aware, Bell has come into contact with 2 types of monsters from the deep floors of the dungeon. The first was the golem monster from DanMachi IV Part 1. And the second is the sheep monster in Part 2 Episode 2.

I don’t remember what the sheep monster’s called. But, its name doesn’t matter. What matters is how much stronger it is than the monsters of the upper floors. Though, you could be forgiven for not thinking it’s that much stronger than what Bell has faced before.

When Bell fights (and defeats) the sheep monster, he’s severely injured. So, if an injured Bell can defeat it, it can’t be that dangerous, right? Well, no. We have to keep in mind that Bell is a pretty strong adventurer at this point thanks to his special skill.

Also, without Ryuu’s knowledge, the fight could have ended very differently. Bell wasn’t aware that the monster had camouflage. So, for any adventurer entering the deep floors, that alone could be fatal. I don’t remember any of the upper-floor monsters being able to hide their locations like that.

In a lot of ways, the sheep monster is the same as the Juggernaut spawned by the dungeon. Doesn’t that have camouflage, too? It’s also fast and strong. The only difference is that the sheep monsters aren’t immune to magic damage. Oh, and you can kill them by stabbing them in the eye.

Speaking of the Juggernaut, we actually still don’t know how to defeat it. The last time it appeared, it seems to have disappeared on its own after almost everyone was dead. It could be that it goes away once the dungeon “heals.” Or it may disappear after enough bloodshed.

Floor Boss Phase 2

At the end of the previous episode, I assumed the floor boss fight was almost over. Clearly, I don’t play enough RPGs. Bell’s party did not, in fact, defeat the floor boss. They defeated one phase of the boss battle. And in the second phase, it summoned some friends.

Now, it doesn’t seem like phase 2 of the floor boss battle is that different from phase 1. The extra fish monsters didn’t pose much of a threat. Well, unless you fall into the water. But, I mean, who would do that? Certainly not Mikoto.

When I say this phase isn’t much different from the first, that’s not good for our heroes. They only beat the first phase thanks to Mikoto’s gravity magic. Well, that combined with the debris it caused to fall from the ceiling onto the boss. And the problem is that it doesn’t seem like she can do it again.

Even if Mikoto could use her gravity magic again, I have a feeling she won’t. Why? Because she disappeared into the depths of the lake. The floor boss created a wave that knocked her into the water. And then the fish monsters grabbed her and dragged her down.

With that said, I don’t believe Mikoto is going to die. She’s one of the main characters. I can’t see any members of the Hestia Familia dying. Other supporting characters are fair game. But Hestia Familia members? I’ll be shocked if any of them die.

So, how is Mikoto going to survive? Can she hold her breath for a long time? Is she going to grow gills? Or, is a certain mermaid Xenos going to come to her rescue? My money’s on the latter. I don’t remember her name, but mermaid girl is coming back.

5 Minutes to Rest

At the end of the episode, Ryuu tells Bell that he has 5 minutes to get some sleep. After that point, they’ll likely need to start moving again. And, the implication was that while it’s Bell’s turn to rest this time, Ryuu will rest next time.

However, I’m not sure that’s the case. At first, I thought maybe Ryuu was tricking Bell into sleeping longer than 5 minutes. After all, once he’s asleep, she can let him continue to sleep. If she told him to sleep for an extended period of time from the start, I doubt he would listen.

But, I don’t know if I still think that’s what’s going on here. Ryuu actually seemed like she was going to hold out for 5 minutes while he slept. So, what she told him about only having a few minutes may be true. She’s the deep floor expert.

Going back to what I said about no Hestia Familia members dying, Ryuu isn’t a familia member. That doesn’t mean I think she’s going to die, though. I don’t know what’s going to happen to her. But, if she does end up dying, her death could be impactful for Bell.

Why would Ryuu get killed off, though? If she’s an important character, wouldn’t it be better to keep her around? Is it worth killing her just so Bell can have a bit of character growth? If Ryuu’s story is over, then yes, it could be.

Remember, this whole arc is about Ryuu returning to the scene of her familia’s massacre. It’s about her getting revenge for her dead comrades. Once she’s done that, what is there left for her to do? She could join the Hestia Familia or she could die. Those are her main options.

Conclusion

What do you think about Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? IV Part 2 Episode 2? Do you think Bell could have defeated the sheep monster without Ryuu? How do you expect Mikoto to survive? And, do you think Ryuu is going to die at the end of the arc? Let me know in the comments.
