Mushoku Tensei Part 2 Episode 8

Mushoku Tensei Part 2 Episode 8

The Shirone Kingdom

With the members of Dead End finally arriving on the Central Continent, we get a chance to see just how varied this land is. The Fittoa region, where Rudy and Eris are from, looked pretty European to me based on the architecture, but there’s a lot more to this continent.

I don’t know if the first region of the continent they traveled through was part of the Shirone Kingdom, but I’m going to assume not. This region resembled rural China, with the distinct mountains and vast rice paddy fields.

The Shirone Kingdom itself seemed more like it was based on India and maybe some Near Eastern cultures. I’m no expert on India, but that’s what the architecture here reminded me of so that’s what I’m going with.

Before arriving on the continent, Rudy gets a visit and some advice from “God” for the first time in about a year. The last time they spoke ended with Rudy obtaining a Demon Eye, and this time around “God” has more advice to help Rudy out.

He tells Rudy to send a letter to someone he knows within the royal palace (Roxy) and then to save his younger sister Aisha, but without giving her his real name. If he does this, he’ll be able to save both Lilia and Aisha.

And, I’d just like to point out that this is all going just as I predicted in my Episode 7 review. I wasn’t quite sure if Aisha would be with Lilia, but I was certain Rudy would locate Lilia. All that’s left to complete my prediction is for Roxy and her party to locate Zenith on the Demon Continent.

Aisha Greyrat

Since Rudy mentions that Aisha should be about six years old, we now have confirmation for roughly how long it’s been since he last saw his family. He was shipped off to tutor Eris not too long after his sisters were born. I’ll assume they were one year old when he left, so he’s been gone for five years.

Obviously, this means that Aisha doesn’t know her brother. But, she’s heard stories about him from her mother, and probably her father and Zenith as well. Unfortunately for Rudy, these stories of him — and his past actions — haven’t exactly painted the best picture in Aisha’s mind.

Regardless of what else she’s heard about her brother, the one piece of information about him that sticks in her mind is that his prized possession is a pair of panties belonging to a 14-year-old girl. And, it’s not like Rudy can argue against that because it’s true.

Speaking of 14-year-old girls, Eris is getting close to that age. I believe the last time we got an age for her, she was 13. So I’m curious to see how she’ll react when she inevitably learns about Rudy’s item of worship from Aisha after his identity is revealed.

It was also interesting that Aisha understood that her mother isn’t Paul’s wife. She refers to Paul and Zenith as her “father and his wife.” I wonder how that affected her upbringing. Were she and Norn raised differently because of their mothers?

Was Aisha raised to be the future maid while Norn was raised as the true daughter? It doesn’t seem like that’s quite right since Aisha still refers to Rudy as her brother. But their family dynamic is definitely interesting and I hope we learn more about it next week.

Pax, 7th Prince of the Shirone Kingdom

I’m not sure if we got the name of the 7th Prince of the Shirone Kingdom back when he was first introduced as Roxy’s new student. But in any event, we now know his name is Pax. And we also know he didn’t willingly let Roxy go in search of Rudy and his family.

Pax is obsessed with Roxy — more so than even Rudy is. Of course, Rudy wants to be reunited with Roxy. But it’s not as if he wants to capture her and keep her as his sex slave for the rest of her life. Maybe if he was reincarnated in Pax’s position he would, though.

Anyway, it turns out that the reason Lilia and Aisha are being held within the Shirone Kingdom is that Pax is using Lilia as bait to lure Roxy back so he can capture her. Aisha is, notably, not bait because she wasn’t born yet when Roxy was living with the Greyrats.

However, Pax doesn’t really seem to understand how bait works. Nobody knew Lilia was being held within the Shirone Kingdom. And if nobody (including Roxy) knows she’s there, nobody (including Roxy) is going to come to her rescue.

And considering Pax isn’t the brightest guy around, he still doesn’t understand this even when Rudy spells it out for him. Instead, he believes that capturing Rudy (and not telling anyone he’s captured Rudy) will somehow make Roxy magically return to him.

Of course, Rudy isn’t going to remain captured for long. He’s currently trapped within a king-class magic barrier. But, I’m pretty sure we all know Rudy can use god-tier magic based on the large-scale weather manipulation he’s pulled off in the past.

So, either he’ll break himself out, or Eris and Ruijerd (who hasn’t assaulted a castle in ages) will do it for him.

What do you think of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Part 2 Episode 8? I really enjoyed this episode. I liked seeing various locations within the Central Continent, I like Aisha’s character, and I loved the interactions between Rudy, Eris, and Ruijerd.
