Season Overview

Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc (Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen / 鬼滅の刃 遊郭編) is the second season of the Demon Slayer anime and canonically follows the Mugen Train Arc, which falls between the two seasons.

As the title of the season implies, this season only covers a single arc: the Entertainment District Arc. And because of this, the season is only 11 episodes long. Though, as I’ll get into later on in this review, even that was a bit too long for the arc.

The very beginning of the arc pics up right after the Mugen Train Arc. Tanjirou visits the Rengoku house to deliver Kyoujurou’s final words to his father and brother. And right away, we’re given some new information about breathing techniques.

Once we get all that out of the way, the arc actually begins and Tanjirou, Inosuke, and Zenitsu go with the Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui, to the red-light district. Yes, the English subtitle for the arc is Entertainment District, but it’s a red-light district.

As you might have guessed, Tengen isn’t taking them there to have a good time. In fact, he already has three wives. So, he basically has his own personal red-light district already.

Jokes aside, rumor has it that one of the Upper Six Demon Moons has made the red-light district their hunting ground. Consorts have been disappearing from the various brothels in the district, and other people have been dying mysteriously.

However, what doesn’t really make sense to me is that it should be well-known that an Upper Six demon is located here. After all, this demon has already killed multiple Hashira over the past century. Clearly, a strong demon is here.

Arc Hashira and Demon(s)

As mentioned, the Hashira of this arc is Tengen Uzui, the Sound Hashira. Overall, I have to say he’s not my favorite Hashira we’ve met so far. Rengoku is definitely better. And I think I’d even say that Shinobu is better. But, that doesn’t mean Tengen is a bad character.

My problem with Tengen is primarily that he feels a bit too similar to Rengoku in some ways. I mentioned this in one of my episode reviews, but it sometimes feels like Tengen acts like Rengoku on purpose in front of his allies and opponents.

For example, during one of the big fights at the end of the season, Tengen was clearly injured. But when the demon pointed that out, Tengen just gave a big smile and said that he was feeling great. That’s something Rengoku would do, but he’d genuinely mean it.

Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui from the anime series Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc
Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui

What’s unique about Tengen is that he’s a former ninja who cast away that lifestyle and now lives as the flashiest Hashira. As you can see by his appearance, he’s not exactly trying to blend in and hide. I’d like him more if his past as a ninja had a bigger effect on his personality.

I guess I’m just going to spoil that there are actually two demons who hold the title of Upper Six. The reason for this is that they’re siblings who are connected so that they can share a body (or not). This also means that to kill them, they both need to be decapitated.

Daki (the younger sister) can control a bunch of cloth belts to attack her enemies. She can also turn her neck into cloth so it’s harder to cut. Gyuutarou (the older brother) uses poisoned sickles made of his blood and can control his blood outside of his body.

Not a Great Arc

There’s one big issue with the Entertainment District Arc. That issue is that there’s only one really good episode, and maybe one other episode I would just consider good. Overall, the arc is pretty boring and I think it’s extremely overrated.

Daki isn’t a very good villain. She’s kind of a joke until the end. And even when she starts to be more of a threat, her ability just isn’t interesting. Gyuutarou is a good villain. But he’s only at the end of the arc and it’s really only a single episode that makes him a good villain.

We also get the backstory of Daki and Gyuutarou after they’ve been killed. And by that point, I no longer care about their backstory. The final episode of the arc was bad for a lot of reasons, but that’s one of them.

Upper Six Demon Daki from the anime series Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc
Upper Six Demon Daki

Even before the ending, however, the arc had its issues. For example, the first half of the arc didn’t really have anything happening. Our protagonists were investigating various brothels and not much came of that. Daki was the demon in all three brothels so it’s not like there was much of a mystery.

Also, while investigating the brothels in search of demons, our protagonists were also supposed to locate Tengen’s wives who had gone missing. I hoped that his wives would become relevant characters after they were rescued. However, that didn’t really pan out.

One of his wives, Hinatsuru, played a small role in the final battle. But her assistance didn’t amount to much in the end. I wanted them to be actual characters. Instead, they were primarily plot devices.

I get that people think they love this season because it had one episode that was amazingly animated. But the season as a whole is nothing special and I don’t get the hype.

Conclusion

In the end, I gave Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc a 6/10, which is almost 3 points lower than its current average score. I enjoyed it. But not much happened and it definitely didn’t need to be 11 episodes. It could have been 6 like the Mugen Train Arc.

Sorairo Utility

Sorairo Utility

OVA Overview

Sorairo Utility (空色ユーティリティ) is a 14-minute OVA about girls playing golf. When the anime was first announced, I thought it was going to be a full series. So, I was disappointed to find out this wasn’t actually the case upon its release at the end of 2021.

Before getting any deeper into what the OVA is about, though, let’s look at the title. Sorairo simply means sky blue. Sora as in sky and iro as in color. That part of the title makes sense since the protagonist references the beauty of the sky multiple times.

What doesn’t make sense to me is the second half of the title. Why is it “utility?” That might make sense to golfers reading this. But to me, that seems like a poor translation of whatever the creators wanted to say. Maybe “technique” would be a better word here?

Minami and Ayaka from the anime OVA Sorairo Utility
Minami and Ayaka

Regardless of what the creators were going for when they decided to use the English word “utility” in the title, the rest of the OVA is fairly nice. I like the art style, the character designs and personalities are good, and the animation is, well, underwhelming.

As far as animation is concerned, the best-animated part of the OVA is the opening scene. That’s not to say that the rest of the OVA is animated terribly. But there are a lot of still shots and the characters are frequently off-model to reduce the detail needed.

Considering this OVA is only 14-minutes long and by the studio that did the Azur Lane anime, I would have expected it to move more. But, at the same time, maybe this project simply wasn’t important enough to put all that effort into. I don’t know.

Characters

There are three characters in Sorairo Utility. These are Minami, Haruka, and Ayaka. It’s unclear if they’re golfing together as part of a school club, or if this is just their hobby. But what is clear is that their skill levels aren’t the same and they only play for fun.

Minami is the protagonist of the OVA and the least skilled golfer of the three. Considering her skill level, it’s implied that she’s newer to golfing than the other two. But we have no real confirmation of this — only circumstantial evidence.

The first piece of evidence is that Minami is pretty bad at golf and her goal is to get her first par on a hole. The second piece of evidence is that Minami buys fancy golf balls thinking they’ll magically help her perform better. That’s a classic beginner’s mistake. And Haruka even points out that Minami’s main issue is her form, not her equipment.

Ayaka, Minami, and Haruka from the anime OVA Sorairo Utility
Ayaka, Minami, and Haruka

Speaking of Haruka, she’s the best of the three at golf. And since she’s the best, we can assume that she’s been playing the longest. Haruka seems to be the most serious about golfing. But she’s not serious about it in an off-putting way. She wants others to enjoy the sport.

Lastly, we have Ayaka, whose skill falls between Minami’s and Haruka’s. However, I’d say that Ayaka is closer in skill to Haruka than to Minami. Ayaka can actually hit the ball in a straight line and in the right direction, unlike Minami.

However, Ayaka also comes across as the least interested in golf of the trio. Don’t get me wrong, she clearly enjoys it. But I got the feeling that she’d participate in and be decent at any activity as long as she got to spend time with the other two.

Would It Work as a Full Series?

To answer this question simply, yes. There’s really no reason that Sorairo Utility wouldn’t work as a full series with full-length episodes. Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater is just about girls fishing and it works in that format. So why wouldn’t an anime about girls golfing work?

Now, that’s not to say that a full series of Sorairo Utility would work exactly as it is now. It definitely could. But I think a few adjustments would have to be made for it to really work in that format.

First of all, some additional characters would need to be added. They don’t need to be main characters. But it would need at least a couple of supporting characters — like how Super Cub has three main characters and some supporting characters.

Haruka and Ayaka from the anime series Sorairo Utility
Haruka and Ayaka

Even though I’ve only seen this one, small bit of content, I do think the characters are good and can be interesting on their own. But supporting characters can add a bit more interest to a full season of episodes.

The other addition a series would need is more of a plot. This OVA follows the girls during a single day of golf. They start in the morning, take a break for lunch, and then finish out their game in the afternoon. That’s fine for a short OVA. But a series needs more than that each week.

In reality, I think it would have to follow the classic sports anime trope of the girls working towards competing in some tournament. The start of the series would focus on practice, the middle portion on games, and the end on competing in the tournament.

I don’t watch many sports anime, but Iwa Kakeru!: Sport Climbing Girls is one I’ve reviewed that follows this same formula. And, no, just because they compete in a tournament doesn’t mean they need to win.

It would be kind of odd if Minami turned into a great golfer over the course of the season. I would expect her to improve, but not surpass Ayaka and Haruka.

Conclusion

I was going to give Sorairo Utility a 5/10. But after thinking it over for a bit, a 6/10 is fairer. I enjoyed it. It’s just that it’s held back by the fact that it’s a 14-minute OVA. A full series would likely be better. And if one ever comes out, I’ll watch it.

2021 Anime Tier List

2021 Anime Tier List

2021 Anime at a Glance

In today’s article, I’m going to be running through “all” the anime that started and finished airing in 2021 that I watched. There are a couple of things missing, and some others added you might not think count. But, I’ll explain those choices when I get to them.

Also, I previously wrote articles on the Top 5 Anime of 2021 (outdated) and the Worst 5 Anime of 2021 that go into more detail regarding the best and worst anime of the year. This article is more of a general overview of the year.

2021 Anime Tier List
2021 Anime Tier List

Something you may notice about this tier list is that it’s skewed towards higher scores. There are many more 7s and 6s than 4s and 3s. That’s not because I tend to score things higher (mostly). It’s more due to the fact that I primarily select anime to watch that I think I’ll enjoy.

I could easily even out my scores by watching more anime I know are going to be bad. But I don’t like watching bad anime that much.

Oh, and the farther left an anime is within a tier, the higher-rated it is. So the leftmost anime is the best of the tier and the rightmost is the worst. I don’t always do that with tier lists, but I did this time.

10 – Masterpiece

One of the first things to catch your eye when looking at my tier list is that I have no anime from 2021 rated at 10/10. There was one anime that came close, which I’ll mention in the 9/10 section. But I just didn’t feel like I could give it a 10.

9 – Great

The three anime I rated 9/10 are Pui Pui Molcar, Mushoku Tensei Part 2, and Sonny Boy. Pui Pui Molcar is the one I considered rating at 10/10. But, all of these anime, including Molcar, didn’t rise to meet the threshold for “Masterpieces.”

8 – Very Good

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation anime series cover art
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation

There were five anime I rated 8/10 in 2021. These are Mushoku Tensei Part 1, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S, Magia Record 2nd Season, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Arc, and To Your Eternity.

To Your Eternity has been bumped out of my top 5 anime of 2021 since I watched more anime from the year between the time I wrote my top 5 article and now. I also included the Mugen Train Arc as a 2021 anime because I watched the TV version, not the movie version.

Also, although I watched Mini Dragon, the short-form series that accompanied Dragon Maid S, I haven’t included it on this tier list because of how little content it had.

7 – Good

Nine anime were rated 7/10 in 2021. They are Fruits Basket: The Final Season, Non Non Biyori Nonstop, Horimiya, Laid-Back Camp Season 2, Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song, Nomad: Megalo Box 2, Attack on Titan: Final Season, Re:ZERO: Season 2 Part 2, and Wonder Egg Priority.

Attack on Titan: Final Season technically began airing in 2020. But that’s just because it was 16 episodes. It’s still considered a winter 2021 season anime, so I’ve chosen to include it.

Additionally, while I did watch the Wonder Egg Priority Special, I haven’t included it as a separate entry on this list. Instead, I’ve placed Wonder Egg Priority at the bottom of this tier to show that the special does bring the series as a whole down.

6 – Fine

Pretty Boy Detective Club anime series cover art
Pretty Boy Detective Club

My 6/10 tier has 15 anime, so I’ll split them up into three groups of five. The top five anime of this tier are Pretty Boy Detective Club, My Hero Academia Season 5, Higurashi – Sotsu, Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro, and My Senpai is Annoying.

You may say my Nisioisin and Shaft bias is showing, But I stand by Pretty Boy Detective Club being the best 6/10 anime. And although I complain about MHA a lot, I do still think it’s usually fun to watch.

The next five anime in the tier are Love Live! Superstar!!, The Aquatope on White Sand, Super Cub, Slime 300, and Heaven’s Design Team. There’s not much to say about these anime; they were all enjoyable.

Higehiro, How Not To Summon a Demon Lord Ω, both parts of TenSura Season 2, and Cells at Work! CODE BLACK round out the bottom of the tier. I gave both Tensura Season 2 parts the same rating, but I do think Part 2 was better than Part 1.

5 – Average

11 anime were ranked 5/10 in 2021. The first half of these are Ganbare Douki-chan, Mieruko-chan, Yuki Yuna: The Great Mankai Chapter, and both Let’s Make a Mug Too Season 2 and Let’s Make a Mug Too. Yes, I wrote Let’s Make a Mug Too Season 2 first because it’s better than Season 1.

The remaining six anime in the Average category are Azur Lane: Slow Ahead!, Cells at Work!!, SSSS.Dynazenon, Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, Kemono Jihen, and Last Dungeon Boonies. I think these six are significantly worse than the previous five anime of the tier, but not enough to be in the 4/10 tier.

4 – Bad

I only rated three anime at 4/10 in 2021. The “Bad” anime are My Next Life as a Villainess X, The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!, and The Promised Neverland Season 2.

My Next Life as a Villainess is just one of those anime I don’t understand the hype around. Jahy is extremely boring, but not exactly bad aside from that. And I think we all know why The Promised Neverland is down here despite how good the first season was.

3 – Very Bad

Redo of Healer anime series cover art
Redo of Healer

The four anime in the “Very Bad” tier are Redo of Healer, So I’m a Spider, So What?, Deep Insanity: The Lost Child, and Log Horizon: Destruction of the Round Table. I know a lot of people are going to say So I’m a Spider, So What? is good. But it’s not. The anime is very bad.

Also, although I have Redo of Healer down in the 3/10 category, I think it’s more like a 6 or 7/10 as far as entertainment is concerned. That’s probably the bad anime I had the most fun watching in 2021 because of how absurd everything about it was.

2 – Horrible

The Seven Deadly Sins: Dragon’s Judgement and Otherside Picnic are the 2/10 anime from 2021. 7DS: Dragon’s Judgement was an improvement over the previous season, but I’m still glad it’s over. Otherside Picnic had some good ideas but was very poorly executed.

1 – Appalling

The worst two anime of 2021 are Ex-Arm and Osamake. On this tier list, I put Ex-Arm above Osamake. But in my article on the worst anime of the year, I had their positions swapped. I think these are both so terrible that either one could be the worst of the worst.

Conclusion

I know there are multiple anime placements on this tier list that you don’t agree with. So let me know what they are in the comments.

What Is the Best Anime Opening of Fall 2021?

What Is the Best Anime Opening of Fall 2021?

First Community Event

Starting in 2022, I’m hosting events over on my Discord server. Anyone who joins the server and accepts the rules is eligible to participate. You get bonus server XP and an event-specific role badge for participating. Come hang out with us.

For the first event, we did a bracket to determine what the best anime opening (OP) of the fall 2021 season was. This bracket ran from January 1st – 31st, with a new OP matchup for community members to vote on each day.

Our next community event is planned to begin on March 1st and will be another bracket to determine the best OP from the winter 2022 season. So if you’re interested in participating, you know where to go.

32-Seed Bracket

Since we did a single-elimination bracket over 31 days, that means we started with 32 anime. How I decided on which 32 were going to make the cut was I opened MyAnimeList and selected the 32 most popular anime of the season.

But, doing so cut out 3 anime I had watched during this season. So, I chopped off the bottom 3 anime on my list of 32 which I was pretty sure nobody in my Discord server watched and replaced them with the final 3 series I watched.

The seeding for the bracket was simply based on where each anime ranked popularity-wise. So the most popular anime of the season was the 1st seed and the least popular (of the 32) was the 32nd seed. The result was the following seeding chart (Japanese names used):

  1. Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu.
  2. Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu Part 2
  3. Takt Op. Destiny
  4. Mieruko-chan
  5. Platinum End
  6. Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru
  7. Blue Period
  8. Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-hen
  9. 86 Part 2
  10. Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi
  11. Saihate no Paladin
  12. Ousama Ranking
  13. Shin no Nakama ja Nai to Yuusha no Party wo Oidasareta node, Henkyou de Slow Life suru Koto ni Shimashita
  14. Shinka no Mi: Shiranai Uchi ni Kachigumi Jinsei
  15. Tsuki to Laika to Nosferatu
  16. Sakugan
  17. Taishou Otome Otogibanashi
  18. World Trigger 3rd Season
  19. Isekai Shokudou 2
  20. Kyuuketsuki Sugu Shinu
  21. Heike Monogatari
  22. Build Divide: Code Black
  23. Deep Insanity: The Lost Child
  24. Sankaku Mado no Sotogawa wa Yoru
  25. Selection Project
  26. Visual Prison
  27. Muv-Luv Alternative
  28. Hanyou no Yashahime: Sengoku Otogizoushi – Ni no Shou
  29. Puraore! Pride of Orange
  30. Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru: Dai Mankai no Shou
  31. Lupin III: Part 6
  32. Yakunara Mug Cup mo: Niban Gama

Now that you see the contenders, I’d like for you to make a prediction regarding the OP you think should or did win. Also, how many of these anime have you watched?

Counting the Votes

I know it’s probably going to be hard to read the filled-out bracket pictured below. So if you want a better look at the matchups and the final vote tallies for each, you can check out the bracket here.

Best Anime OP of Fall 2021 bracket
Best Anime OP of Fall 2021 bracket

Let’s just highlight some of the interesting matchups from the first round since it would take a while to go through each of them individually. The first winner that I don’t particularly agree with is Mieruko-chan beating Puraore! Mieruko-chan won 9-4, but I voted for Puraore! in that matchup.

The next one of interest, at least to me, is that Lupin III: Part 6 defeated Mushoku Tensei Part 2 7-3. I agree with this victory since Mushoku Tensei doesn’t really have an OP. But I still expected Mushoku Tensei to get more votes.

The second round wasn’t all that interesting, so moving onto the third round, Komi finally defeated Demon Slayer 10-3 and Heike Monogatari finally defeated Mieruko-chan 9-1. My Senpai Is Annoying also beat Lupin III 9-2 and Takt Op. Destiny blew Build Divide out of the water 8-0.

In the semifinals, Komi beat Heike Monogatari and My Senpai Is Annoying beat Takt Op. Destiny. Of those four, I think Takt Op. Destiny was the odd one out. The other three OPs are far better, in my opinion.

Of course, that means the finals were between Komi and My Senpai Is Annoying. Komi won in the end and is also the one I voted for in this matchup.

Crowning the Winner

Komi Can't Communicate anime series cover art
Komi Can’t Communicate

Despite the fact that I didn’t watch Komi Can’t Communicate and don’t have any plans to watch it, I have to acknowledge that it has the best OP of the season. After watching all the OPs in the first round of the bracket, it was pretty clear to me that Komi was going to be the winner.

I’m not the biggest fan of the song used in the Komi OP; it’s alright. But what makes the Komi OP the best of the season for me are the visuals. The art and animation are great.

As for the second place OP, I have to admit I didn’t remember the My Senpai Is Annoying OP being as good as it was. It’s a good OP, and in my review of the series, I called it nothing special. I was wrong.

The Heike Monogatari OP (which tied for third place with Takt Op. Destiny) is the only OP to convince me to watch the series. I haven’t started Heike Monogatari yet. But I loved the OP and it looks like a very good anime so it’s been added to my list.

And the last OP I want to mention in this section on “winners” is probably unexpected: Build Divide. The Build Divide OP definitely isn’t bad despite losing in round 3. However, I think the song used for it is really good. I do like EGOIST so maybe there’s some bias there. But it’s still a good song.

Conclusion

Do you agree with the best OP of the fall 2021 season as decided by my Discord community? What about the other matchups? Are there any you would have voted for the losing option in? Let me know in the comments.

Pui Pui Molcar

Pui Pui Molcar

Pui Pui Molcar anime series title screen
Pui Pui Molcar

Series Overview

Pui Pui Molcar (PUI PUI モルカー) is a short-form comedy anime series that’s allegedly aimed at kids. As a 26-year-old, I can assure you that it’s fun for all ages. It’s also extremely easy to binge the entire series due to its length.

There are 12 episodes of Molcar and they’re each between 2 – 3 minutes in length. That means you can watch the entire series in under 30 minutes, which is exactly what I did this morning.

As for the content of Molcar, it takes place in a world in which guinea pigs have evolved to fill the role of cars. They have wheels, windows, and people can enter their car-like interiors. In this world, molcars have replaced cars in daily life.

The biggest difference between a molcar and a regular car, though, is that molcars have sentience and wills of their own. When a person hops in a molcar to go to the store, they don’t really seem to have complete control over the molcar. Their molcar may decide to do something else instead.

That fact is really what causes all of the molcar antics throughout the series. Molcars get distracted by food, they get scared, and they typically just do whatever they want. For example, in the final episode (which I think is the worst episode), a molcar throws a house party while its owner is asleep.

Oh, and another thing about Pui Pui Molcar is that there’s no dialogue at all. The molcars make sounds sometimes, and there’s a soundtrack, but there’s no dialogue. Everything the molcars are thinking is expressed through their actions and visible emotions. For guinea pig-car hybrids, molcars are pretty expressive.

Animation

Initially, I was a bit surprised that Molcar was considered an anime by MyAnimeList. 99% of the animation in the series is stop motion animation, not drawn or CGI animation. I’m pretty sure in the past, MAL has excluded stop motion from their database. I believe this happened with an episode of Near Death!! Ekoda-chan.

From what I remember, the episode of Ekoda-chan was determined to not be “anime” because the stop motion animated episode featured live actors. However, Molcar actually does the same thing, albeit to a lesser extent.

While the molcars themselves are the main characters, there are also humans within this world. I mean, who else would be driving the molcars? Oftentimes, these humans are simply toys that are animated in stop motion like the molcars. But sometimes we get shots of them inside the molcars and they’re actual people.

Interestingly, even when live actors are used for these molcar interior shots, they’re animated with stop motion — as is a cat in one episode.

A stampede of molcars from the anime series Pui Pui Molcar
A stampede of molcars

Now, you might be thinking that stop motion animation is going to look a bit weird. I know a lot of people are turned off by anime that use different art or animation styles. I’m the same way at times. If an anime is entirely CGI animated, I tend to skip it.

But, the stop motion animation in Pui Pui Molcar is actually extremely well done. Even the vast majority of the effects are done with stop motion. For example, cotton is used to create smoke and blur effects that honestly look really good.

Also, I think the fact that the molcars walk instead of roll on their wheels is a great touch. For starters, it’s just funnier that way. However, I think this also adds to the motion of the series in a positive way. If the wheels simply rolled, they wouldn’t be taking complete advantage of the unique qualities of stop motion animation.

Best Anime of the Year?

Pui Pui Molcar might unironically be my pick for best anime of the year (2021). Today, I was going to rank all of the 2021 anime I watched on a tier list. But I decided to put that off until next week so I could watch and review Molcar first, and then include it in the tier list as well.

It’s a good thing I decided to do that because of how highly I rate this anime. I don’t think Molcar is perfect, though. I haven’t given it a 10/10. But it’s definitely within my top 3 anime of the year, which changes my Top 5 Anime of 2021 post I put out at the end of last year.

I’m not going to go back and change that post now since I watched Molcar in 2022 despite it being a 2021 anime. However, I’d like to lay out my argument for why I think Molcar should be in the discussion surrounding the best anime of the year in this section.

A magical girl themed itasha molcar from the anime series Pui Pui Molcar
A magical girl themed itasha molcar

First, I believe Molcar’s short run time is a huge reason why it’s good. I’d love for there to be Molcar content, and hopefully, there will be a second season in the future. But it’s definitely not something I would want to watch a full season of if the episodes were normal or even half-length. It’s the right length for the material.

Second, Molcar is really funny. I wouldn’t say it’s laugh-out-loud funny. But it’s funny. I think my top 3 favorite scenes are the power-up scene in the race episode, the Indiana Jones scene in the carwash episode, and the itasha scene in the superhero episode (pictured above).

And lastly, Pui Pui Molcar is just a very creative series. It’s a lot of fun to watch because of how creative the basic idea of the show is.

Conclusion

Overall, I give Pui Pui Molcar a 9/10, which puts it on par with other top anime from 2021 such as Mushoku Tensei and Sonny Boy. If you think Molcar looks like fun, I highly recommend watching it because it’s such a small time commitment.
